ABOUT

Chrysalis CEO Tanya Danny founded Chrysalis Therapeutic Support Services in Newcastle in February 2018. Tanya is a registered Social Worker (AASW) practicing for over 30 years in the Community Services sector, OOHC, Child Protection, Domestic Violence, Alcohol, and other Treatment Services across New South Wales. CTSS is a certified NDIS provider for Specialist Behaviour, Therapeutic Support, & Life transitions. We opened our first clinic in Newcastle and mobile behaviour support services in Sydney in 2019, Coffs Harbour (2020). 

Tanya’s specialises in trauma informed practice, positive behaviour support and childhood trauma. She holds a Bachelor of Dramatic Art, Master of Social Work, Counselling and Psychotherapy and is an NDIS Credentialed Behaviour Specialist. Tanya is committed to creating safe therapeutic spaces where our clients, where no-one is invisible, where challenging behaviour is understood as a form of communication, and where growth isn’t measured by the huge changes but the small steps. 

In 2021 Tanya co-founded Chrysalis Accommodation; opening three SIL programs in Port Macquarie. Chrysalis Accommodation’s mandate is to imbed positive behaviour support practices into the day-to-day culture of supported accommodation for adults with complex support needs.  

Our motto is ‘the only way to predict the future is to create it’ (Abe Lincoln). Chrysalis represents the process of metamorphosis,
