Chrysalis Therapeutic Support Services continues to closely monitor and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) based on the latest advice from the Australian Federal Government and/or the responsible NSW and local health authorities.
Chrysalis is continuing to work hard to support our participant and their supporters. We recognise that this is a particularly anxious time for everyone and encourage you to contact us if you have any queries or questions.
The majority of our services are open, your Behaviour Support Clinicians are working hard to ensure that they are able to support you all, and address issues you may be having in a timely manner. An overview of our current services and supports is as follows:
Chrysalis Closes Clinics for two weeks.
Coffs Harbour Clinic will be closed for the next weeks pending NSW Health advice and us finding a new home. We really loved our clinic in Coffs but the building has been sold and we need to find a new home. A small problem in the current social crisis most of you are experiencing.
The Newcastle Office and Clinic will also be closed. At this time all home visits are suspended and will be replaced by Chrysalis Support Online for at least two weeks whilst all of our clinicians self-isolate. A precaution to protect you and us.
Behaviour Support Therapy has commenced Chrysalis Support Online as a replacement for all face to face behaviour support sessions until it is safe to resume normal service provision.
Chrysalis Assessments will be conducting diagnostic assessments via Tele-Health.
Chrysalis Customer portal has been created for participants and their supporters- read our blog, latest news, take a behaviour quiz, join carers forum, and meet me via zoom once a week to answer touch questions about behaviour.
Chrysalis Support Online has replaced face to face meetings, NDIS review and case reviews and training for services providers.
One of your behaviour support team will be in touch to clarify the options available for you, and to book in your chrysalis support online session. If you have any questions about your Chrysalis services please contact us asap so we can help, if you are concerned about your next NDIS plan or your are struggling to access NDIS providers call and we will do our best to connect you to someone else.
NDIA COVID-19 SUPPORT FOR PARTICIPANTS AND PROVIDERS
The NDIA has announced a package of COVID-19 measures for NDIS providers and participants. These new measures will inject much-needed cash into the provider sector as it prepares for and responds to the challenges that COVID-19 will have on people with disability, their families and carers, and on providers and our workforces.
The new measures, to support participants, include:
· Plans to be extended by up to 24 months, to ensure continuity of support and to direct planning resources to urgently required plan reviews.
· Planning to be done via telephone meetings where possible.
· More flexibility in the use of capacity building funds (shifting it to core where necessary).
· An ‘action plan’ to ensure NDIS participants and families continue to receive essential disability supports.
Let us help to protect you
World Health Organisation’s promotes good hygiene and adopting social-distancing measures are still the best form of defence, their recommendations include to:
· Frequently wash hands using soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub
· When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, or flexed elbow, then throw away the tissue immediately and wash your hands
· Avoid close contact with anyone who has a fever or cough
· Any staff member, student, participant or client who is unwell should not attend an Chrysalis site, until all symptoms are completely resolved.
We are also committed to keeping you updated on any new changes to our services based on new information and/or advice regarding COVID-19.
The Federal Government has established a COVID-19 hotline which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer any additional questions you may have – 1800 022 222.
